For this design project, I imagined a dedicated writer’s suite at Raffles Hotel Singapore, a place famous for hosting authors for long stays while they worked on their books. The desk, called an écritoire, blends contemporary and traditional elements: storage for personal belongings, a tilting writing surface with inkwell and pen for classic handwriting, and a concealed area beneath for a laptop and a shared guest book, where successive writers could read and leave their own words.
